But the mud was to remind them of what they were standing on when there should have been strong waters that would have swept them downstream. The mud was a strong reminder that God was with them, and this is a reminder to us as well that God will keep us standing on dry ground in the midst of turbulence. As He was with the Israelites, He is with us today.
