They had been given food every day in the desert, as the Lord had provided them with manna that came from heaven. Now, they had to remove the thorns and thistles, face their giants and their fears, and cultivate their own food. It was necessary, since they needed to mature and be the light that God had called them to be in the world. It was difficult going in, but the land was theirs, and God was with them.

This design is meant to depict the difficulties we face when entering into the new things that God has called us to. There are roadblocks, giants, thorns and thistles to cut down and remove, we now find ourselves as beginners doing something out of our comfort zones, but just as God was with the Israelites when they went into Canaan, the Promised Land, so too is God with us when He opens doors for us to enter into our "promised land" no matter how hard it gets.
